Position: Automation Technical Specialist, Verescence North America, Inc., 9141 Technology Drive, Covington, GA 30014
Duties: Provide critical support in connection with ensuring technical soundness in the electricity and automation operations of the manufacturing plant. Participate in technical projects to develop, deploy, and maintain electrical control and automation systems and devices; Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components. Support the implementation of electrical control systems and prototypes; Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments. Provide training to personnel; Educate equipment operators on the proper use of equipment. Support the design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices; Install or maintain electrical control systems, industrial automation systems, or electrical equipment, including control circuits, variable speed drives, or programmable logic controllers. Assist with testing of systems, devices, and instruments; Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems. Document testing procedures, measures and records; Inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment; Modify, maintain, or repair electronics equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning, and replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments. Design, implement, and maintain electrical and automation systems, including all associated equipment; Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools. Conduct inspections and tests on electrical and automation systems; ensure at all times the technical integrity and performance of the electrical, instrumentation and automation systems; Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts. Monitor plant and equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduction of planned and unplanned maintenance. 20% domestic and international travel is required.
Requirements: 5 yrs. of experience working in a glass manufacturing environment as an industrial electrician or automation specialist; 5 yrs. of experience working with temperature controls, furnace & batch systems, proximity sensors, electric motors, starters, pneumatics, and hydraulic valves; 5 yrs. of experience working with test equipment such as oscilloscope, meg-ohm meter, VOM and current meter and handheld terminals; 5 yrs. of experience operating Allen Bradley PLC control systems, Emhart T600, Emhart flex IS and Bottero control systems; 5 yrs. of experience working with high voltage electrical transformation systems including corrective and preventative maintenance; 5 yrs. of experience working with automation packaging systems; 5 yrs. of experience manipulating the controlling furnace pressure, temperatures, regulation and control systems; 5 yrs. of experience performing corrective and preventative maintenance of glass annealing furnaces for natural gas combustion and heating electric resistances for glass droplet shear systems; 5 yrs. of working knowledge of IS machinery, controls and safety protocols; 2 yrs of experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance of various glass machinery equipment used to inspect glass container appearance and dimensions, packing and labeling and computerized production control systems; 2 yrs of experience working in glass melting furnaces up to 150 tons per day at extreme temperatures; 2 yrs of experience working with control and regulation of furnace combustion systems at extreme temperatures; 2 yrs of experience working with control and regulation of furnace pressures and temperatures; 2 yrs of experience working with glass feeder channels for forming machines including control and regulation of pressures and temperatures and glass levels for forming machines.
Salary: $91,562 per year
