Manager of the Molding shop

Emmanuel Verescence Mers-les-Bains (France)

A JOURNEY OF DETERMINATION

« When I joined Verescence in 1989 as a worker, I was immediately fascinated by glass forming. The transformation of a drop of glass into a precious bottle seemed like pure magic to me! I got to work at the heart of the glass plant, the Hot End Department, as an IS machine operator. I stayed there until 1995. After that I took up the position of Hot End Mechanic and in 1999, the fruit of my daily work was rewarded when the group (SGD: Saint-Gobain Desjonquères at the time) offered me the opportunity to train to become an IS Machine Adjuster. 2006 came with a new mark of confidence when I became Head of Blow Molding for furnaces 2 and 3.

In 2009, I traded the manufacturing machines for a management role in the Molding workshop. I currently manage a team of 52 employees there. Our mission is to ensure the maintenance and conformity of the molding tools used in the production of glass bottles. As a manager, my priority is to ensure the safety of my employees in their daily work.

For me, working at Verescence means feeling proud. Proud of an expertise that also attracts prestigious customers. Proud of a long-standing experience in a company that has become a world leader in its sector, defending fair values.

I’m committed to implementing the actions necessary to respect the environment and our CSR policy, to enable each employee to thrive in his or her position, to train and grow, and to enjoy coming to work every day. I’m lucky to have started as a worker, to know what is happening inside the teams, and that influences my style of management. For me, a manager has to know how to put himself in his teams’ shoes. To be human. Relationships are crucial. Managing is about being in the field, supporting people, spending time with the teams. My career at Verescence has always been close to the manufacturing department. Ever since I joined the group, whatever my position, I have enjoyed working here. It fascinates me and makes me proud every time I spot our bottles in a perfume shop.

For me, working at Verescence means feeling proud. Proud of an expertise that also attracts prestigious customers. Proud of a long-standing experience in a company that has become a world leader in its sector, defending fair values. And finally, proud to work alongside people who perform amazing feats every day. Proud and grateful. I am grateful to all the people who gave me the chance to evolve to get where I am today and to all those who still believe in me today, because being able to develop and evolve is an important support factor. »
